Kubrick has Control Issues!
There are many things that can help you tell if you are watching a Stanley Kubrick film, like the shots, or music, but one thing that is present in every Kubrick movie is always underrated: most of his movies deal with lose of control. This can be seen in many of his movies, and is one of the major things in the plot or storyline. For example, in 2001: A Space Odyssey, what causes one of the major conflicts is for HAL to not function properly, and try to kill the astronauts. In other words, HAL lost control. Another example can be seen in A Clockwork Orange, and is in fact one of the major themes. The movie is about how young people take over, and a reign of anarchy is in place. Also, total lose of control. A last example could be in the movie The Shining. This movie shows total lose of control when Jack is going crazy, or losing control of his mind, because of solitude. Those are just some of the many examples in which Kubrick movies show a theme related to lose of control. Try to think about that next time you watch one of Stanley's films, and leave your opinion in the comments.
